Watercolor: Poached Eggs

I know I'm not very creative with naming!

I edited this one so you can see the brushstrokes better. . .

Temptation. . .

No, Mr. Ice-Cream man. . .

I admire your clever ploy of circling the block like a hawk. Your cheerful little tune distracts me from homework as I crick my neck to watch you pass through the window.

You *knew* that you could best entice me by putting that chocolate coated chocolate-y chocolate thing on the side of your van. . .

Oh yes.

I will RESIST! You will *not* be effective for long at all operating under the theory of "fifth time's the charm"!!!

Said homework is distracting me from blogging! (Hmm. . . Maybe it's the other way around. . .) ;)

If Ye Love Me

Thomas Tallis was an English composer in the 16th century:

John 14: 15-17
If ye love me, keep my commandments, and I will pray the Father. And He shall give you another comforter, that He may abide with you forever, even the Spirit of Truth.

Lace, silk, flowers. . . Bonnets!

Sewing a bonnet is a bit like sewing inside a bucket. A pretty bucket. The last week of April, I went to a bonnet class where I spent a delightful day creating a bonnet form and chatting with some fabulous ladies! I went home with some lovely supplies:

The silk is. . . Silllky. The flowers are charming. The lace? It's yummy.

Okay, it's confession time. My teddy bear still lives on my bed. His name is Precarious Darius Stradivarius the Bearius. He prefers Darius. He's just as cuddly as he was when I was seven. Just so you know.
Anyway, he's graciously agreed to model my bonnet form.

Can't picture it?

Now? Do you think that the plaid bow-tie clashes? It might look better with my sheer fan-front?

This is the back so far. SO exciting! Love it!

P.S Thank you so much to our lovely teacher! You were so prepared and made the class a fabulous experience!

And they had an organ

I went to a Wind and Brass Recital at the local university. I have to write about it for my Music Appreciation class. I was SO not looking forward to it, but when I got there, I knew it was the real deal. They had a music building. A whole building. Love it. In their concert hall (in their music building) they have an organ.

An organ. An organ. The first time I've seen one in real life. Let me tell you, add it to your bucket list because they are so breathtaking and elaborate and magnificent and make you feel really, really small. Can you tell how much I love the organ? I wasn't even expecting there to *be* an organ, it was just like, *POW* there's an organ over there. I literally could not breathe for a minute. I think that if they're gonna spring random organs on people they should at least warn them first. . .

We got there first, of course. Where do ya sit?

After the difficult decision regarding seating, I read the program.

And heard some beautiful music :)

Ah, today I'm writing letters to friends, finishing homework, sewing delicious silk onto a certain bonnet and enjoying the yummy sunshine! Happy May!

I'll tell y'all about how the bonnet class went soon!
