Summer Bucket List and The Big Bright Beautiful Future!

Well, this summer is going to be different, but for right now, my plan is just to go with the flow.
People have asked me about what I'm going to do now that I've graduated. I've had difficulty explaining, not only because the concept is rare nowadays, but also I've just been scared to go against the culture, and of what people might think of me.

I'm going to be a stay-at-home daughter. I'm also going to be tutoring through the summer and fall, and I'll wait on the Lord to lead me if He wants me going in a different direction. I've had various responses to this, as a lot of people I've talked to assumed I was going to college. Well I just finished two years of college, and  that'll give me a jump start if I decide to continue. At this point, I don't need to transfer for what I want to do.

Some people have asked, "Well why are you in college to be a mom?" I've replied with things like, "Why not?", "Who do *you* want raising the next generation?" and "Well I want to be the best person I can be."
There have been, snorts, chuckles and eye rolls.
However, I have had positive responses from people who have told me to follow my dreams, be the best person I can be and some people have thought that it was cool that I wanted to be a stay at home mother.

On a more short-term note, I've been thinking about this summer. I'll be working, but my largest goals are to get my license (I just need to get more practice in), to re-do our reenacting wardrobe and to get in shape. I've got projects I've lined up for being a stay-at-home daughter, but right now I'd like to focus on those three. I'd also like to:

Take a photography class
Have a picnic
Learn to fish
Ride on the back of a motorcycle
 Ride in a convertible
Swim lots (I bought a swimsuit the other day)
Have a movie night
Go to the Seattle Aquarium
Take a yoga or Pilates class

Which reminds me, I could be exercising right now!

Thank you Sarah! It's soo good to hear from you - I've missed you! I know that God has His plans and it's a comfort to wait in Him!

People scoff because your plan is ridiculously smart. Many people go to college and change majors two or three times, losing thousands of dollars each time only to realize that they want to have kids or find out that their passion is in something completely unrelated to what they studied.

Isn't it silly that we chose our professions before we've had much experience? Ask any adult what they want to be when they grow up, they'll tell you they are still not sure. :)

You are smart in staying at home and gaining your experience. If you are meant to go back to school, you will find out during your home studies.

I say good for you for staying true to your calling! It takes so much faith to go against convention and people's expectations, but as you said, it's a comfort and relief to know He has plans for your life.

@ Stephanie Ann:
Thanks for the encouragement! If I did transfer right now, it'd probably be to go into education, and I'm not even that sure. It would be so discouraging to have to switch majors!

@ Marian:
Thank you - It is a relief!

You go girl! Keep following His will and He will bless every path He leads you down. The world will look on in wonder as you don't pursue a career and wind up content and joyful and (can it be? *shock*) successful! I am personally pursuing a college degree, but it is a matter of honoring my parents more than anything--if your parents are on-board with you being a stay at home daughter, what a wonderful blessing that is!
