And a happy new year!

025

I do hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas! Ours was, of course, rainy, but now we’re enjoying a dusting of snow.

My winter break started with a busy Saturday. A 1855 Christmas party, then a Civil War era Christmas dance! I loved swishing around in my new silk, which was a present from last Christmas, and which I started last June. A very fun day, but when I came home I had the best waltz with my Tarquin, a fine young man (when he doesn’t need a nap)!

We spent a few days decking the halls and making cookies!

Christmas was fabulously spent with family: 028 063

A few days after Christmas we went to lunch with extended family, and played pool:

Tarquin’s technique of slamming the stick against the table wasn’t very effective, so he ended up, quite literally dangling off of Daddy’s pool stick, yelling, “Get the ball in the hole, Daddy, in the *hole*!”

If you were to visit us today, you would most likely find me working on yet another corset (denim, embroidered, buttoned). You’d meet at least a few of us playing Apples to Apples, and several of us finishing thank you notes.

May you see the glorious hand of God in the coming year!

P.S.

Look forward to a post about my Christmas apron collection!
